Organisation Structure

DAIS is run by a committee of management who employ a full-time manager to oversee and implement the policies of the organisation. Membership of the association is divided into three categories - Ordinary Members (person with a disability, carer, or consumer organisation representative); Associate Members (service provider representative or other interested person); and Life Members (Committee recommendation for any person who, in its opinion, has rendered outstanding service to DAIS).

The Committee of Management consists of four office bearers, three ordinary members and two associate members. Seven of the nine positions on the committee are to be occupied by individuals with disabilities, carers or delegates from disability related self-help groups.
